Meet the Mill Team: Part Two

Every successful team is comprised of multiple personalities and skillsets, but at a mill, it’s especially important for the mill team to work like a well-oiled machine. There’s a crew of nine that make things happen at Muscanell, so we’re introducing them in two parts. For round two, we have Nick Begaye (Machine Operator Level 6, 2 years with MM), Ben Kontyko (Machine Operator Level 6, 3 years with MM), Isaac Coyote (Machine Operator Level 6, 2 years with MM), Owen Kraus (Machine Operator Level 6, 4 years with MM), and Chris Evans (Machine Operator Level 3, 9 months with MM).

What is your favorite part of the job?

Nick: Learning new things.

Ben: Working with at least a few competent people.

Isaac: Taking the owner out to go shooting. Getting paid to fill this out.

Owen: Crew lunch.

Chris: Learning all the machines.

How has working in the mill benefited you in life (other than the paycheck)?

Nick: The mill has helped me with making time for my daughters, also kept me in shape.

Ben: Additional perspective… I’ve had 7 or 8 jobs and each one shows more of what is out there.

Isaac: Was able to lose weight by being active.

Owen: Life skills.

Chris: I get to spend more time with my kids.

What is one fun fact you are willing to share about yourself?

Nick: I enjoy watching my daughters play basketball.

Ben: I am the third child of seven.

Issac: I served with 3rd Light Armoured Recon BN during the Iraq War.

Owen: I like guns.

Chris: I like to workout.
